This is the one step where the new eSIM is the answer. Pick the old SIM here and you will roam on your home plan abroad. Select [eSIM 1], then tap [Next].

Choose the SIM to use for the internet. With data switching on, your phone can fall back to the other SIM when the one you chose cannot connect.

Turn on data roaming for the eSIM

A travel eSIM works by roaming. Each line has its own row, so turn on [Data roaming eSIM 1]. Leave the one for your own SIM off — that would roam on your home plan.
